We recently had a customer write in with this info on the MKM2 side mount:
"By the way, the Molded Side Mount Mine mount worked perfect for my application which was to mount on the thin strip of fiberglass between the front windshield and the drivers side window, I mounted it so the antenna is about a foot and a half above the roofline which keeps me under the magic 13 ½ feet for gas stations and bridges etc."
