Motorola announced its new RDX Series™ On-Site Two-Way Business Radios in April of 2008. 

The NEW RDU2020 radios have enhanced audio quality, heavy duty constuction and waterproof, designed especially for industrial use, and are replacing the discontinued XU1100 and XU2100 radios of the older XTN series.

• Durability:  This item is manufactured with a durable metal diecase chassis, and will hold up under demanding conditions, while meeting military 810 C, D, E, F, and IP54/55 specifications for shock, rain, humidity, salt fog, vibration, sand/dust, temperature shock, high and low temperatures.
• Customer Programming Software:  Interfacing with RDX series radios is easier than ever before.  CPS software will allow users to perform programming functions, and provides access to new features such as Reverse Burst to eliminate unwanted noise, Radio Reporting to manage cloning and radio profiles, Manager lock, Power Select, Pl/DPL Defeat and two additional Time-Out Timers.
• Battery:  The standard Lithium Ion battery will provide up to 12 hours of life per single charge. 
• Power and Coverage:  2 Watt RDX series radios provide coverage of up to 250,000 Sq Ft/20 floors.  For instances where additional coverage is required, the 4/5 watt RDX series models will provide coverage of up to 350,000 Sq Ft/30 floors, under optimum conditions.
• Business Exclusive Frequencies:  Operates on 89 UHF or 27 VHF business exclusive frequencies and features 122 codes to help ensure a clear signal.
• Enjoy  the tri-color LED, quickly copy setting from radio to radio, convenient drop-in charger, hands-free operation when used with options accessories.  Compatible with XTN serires audio accessories.
