In order to operate a device properly and keep it from getting damaged, you must supply the device with the proper level of voltage.
Inverters and converters can help you achieve this but it is important to understand the difference between the two. An inverter changes DC voltage into AC voltage and either increases or decreases the power to the appropriate level. A converter changes the voltage level but not the voltage type (DC / AC). As you could determine, an inverter is a bit more complicated since it is changing the type of voltage and the level.
Power inverters can convert battery power to 120V AC power (household), which allow you to power up equipment from your car, truck, RV, boat, or other vehicle.
